So society is not a violent fascist free for all but a normal place that does not have crime and other problems. The Troopers are seen as a necessary evil in that the peaceful society needs a fascistic military to preserve their freedoms from the aliens bugs and other enemies. ![]() In the novel the society that the Starship Troopers protect is not fascist but a free democracy.with a catch. The impression is given that the military wants everyone to enlist.the clerk proudly tells the recruits at the enlistment station that the infantry made him the man he is.and then shows how he is missing arms and legs. The movie is a sort of comical glorification of a violent military which advertises "one click" enlistments and portrays a society that seems to love fascism. The movie Starship Troopers takes two rather superficial aspect of the novel.the war against the alien bugs and a fascist military organization and leaves out about 90 percent of the rest of the book. I don't know if the OP has read the book. ![]()
